Subscription line items are pulled from your product catalog — so the first step to billing on a schedule is creating a product to sell. Products are reusable across deals, invoices, and subscriptions, and a recurring product carries its own default price, billing frequency, term, and taxes that pre-fill the moment you add it to a subscription. This guide shows you how to build and manage them.
How to create a product for subscriptions in Cornerspot
Products live on the Products page in the left-hand menu. Here's the full path, start to finish.
1. Open the Products page
From the dashboard, select Products in the left-hand menu. This opens your full product catalog, with a New Product button in the top-right corner.

2. Click “New Product”
Select New Product to open the New Product panel. It slides in from the right so you never lose your place in the list.

3. Enter the name, code, description, and price
The Name is the only required field. Add an optional code (such as a SKU), a short description, and a default price. Currency is also required, but it's already pre-filled with your team's default. You can also set a unit — for example seat, license, or month.

4. Choose a recurring pricing model
Set the Pricing Model to Recurring so the product is meant to bill on a schedule (the other option, One-Time, is for one-off charges). Choosing Recurring reveals the cadence fields below.

5. Set a default billing frequency and term
Pick a default Billing Frequency — Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, or Annual — and a Default Term (months). These pre-fill whenever the product is added to a subscription, so you don't have to re-key them each time. You can also attach default tax rates and discounts here so they carry onto new line items too.

6. Create the product
When everything looks right, click Create Product. Cornerspot saves it and it appears in your catalog, ready to add to any subscription, deal, or invoice.

How products power subscriptions
- Line items: When you add a product to a subscription, its price, default frequency, term, taxes, and discounts pre-fill the line item automatically.
- Create on the fly: You can also create a brand-new product without leaving the subscription form — the “Create new product” option in the line-item picker opens this same panel.
- Reusable everywhere: One product works across deals, quotes, invoices, and subscriptions, so pricing stays consistent.
- Snapshots at creation: A subscription snapshots the product's taxes and discounts when it's created, so later catalog edits don't retroactively change existing subscriptions.
Managing your catalog
- Use a clear, consistent name and a unique code so products are easy to find and add.
- Confirm the default price, currency, and frequency — they flow straight onto subscriptions and invoices.
- Mark products inactive to retire them; inactive products are hidden by default and won't appear in the picker.
- Set up reusable tax rates and discounts in your billing settings, then attach them as product defaults.
