How to download the signed PDF and certificate of completion in CornerSpot

When everyone has signed an envelope, CornerSpot finalizes it: the status becomes Completed, and you can download a single signed PDF with every signature, field value, and timestamp baked in — along with a certificate of completion that summarizes the audit trail. This guide shows you how to retrieve it.

How to download the signed PDF in CornerSpot

The download lives on the envelope itself, and it appears once the envelope reaches Completed status.

1. Wait for everyone to sign

Each recipient opens the secure link in their email, reviews the document, and adds their signature. You don't have to do anything during this step — CornerSpot tracks progress for you.

2. The envelope is fully executed

When the last person signs, the envelope is complete. Every recipient automatically receives a signed copy by email, and the signer sees a confirmation page where they can download their own copy.

3. Open the envelope in CornerSpot

Back in your dashboard, go to E-Sign and open the envelope. Its status pill now reads Completed, and the builder switches to a read-only view of the finished document.

4. Click “Download signed PDF”

In the Actions card on the right, click Download signed PDF. CornerSpot gives you the flattened document with all signatures, field values, and timestamps baked in, together with the certificate of completion that summarizes the audit trail.

Just after an envelope completes, this button may briefly read “Preparing signed PDF…” while CornerSpot assembles the final file. It becomes clickable as soon as the document is ready, usually within a moment.

5. Review the audit trail

Below the document, the audit timeline records every step in order — when the envelope was sent, viewed, each field completed, and each recipient signed — with timestamps. This tamper-evident history is what makes the signed PDF legally defensible, and it’s included in the certificate of completion.

What you get in the download

  • The signed document — a single flattened PDF with every signature, initials, date, and field value rendered in place.
  • The certificate of completion — a summary of the audit trail: who signed, when, and from where, plus the envelope’s unique ID.

Good to know

  • Recipients get a copy too. On completion, everyone on the envelope automatically receives the signed PDF by email — you don’t have to forward it.
  • It’s retained securely. CornerSpot keeps the completed document and certificate on file, encrypted at rest, so you always have a record.
  • The download appears only when Completed. While an envelope is still Draft or Sent, there’s nothing to download yet — the button shows up once everyone has signed.
