CornerSpot's Talk to the Documentation assistant adds an AI chat to your published Knowledge Base. It answers visitor questions from your published articles, cites its sources, and lives in a button and chat panel that you brand yourself. This guide walks through setting it up on the Publishing (Standalone) tab of your Knowledge Base settings.
How to set up the Talk to the Documentation AI assistant in CornerSpot
Open Knowledge Base → Settings → Publishing (Standalone) at /dashboard/knowledge-base-hub/settings/publishing and scroll to the Talk to the Documentation card. Every change autosaves as a draft, so there is no separate Save button to press.

1. Enable the docs assistant
Flip the Enable the docs assistant switch. This adds a "Talk to the documentation" button and AI chat panel to your published site, and reveals the configuration options below.

2. Write the AI system prompt
Use the AI System Prompt to set the assistant's tone, guardrails, and what it should or should not discuss. It always answers only from your published Knowledge Base, so use the prompt to shape how it responds, not to add outside facts.

3. Review MCP tools
In Model Context Protocol tools you can connect external MCP servers to give the assistant extra read-only tools. Read the warning first: tools enabled here run for anonymous visitors on your published documentation and their output is shown publicly, so enable only tools that are safe to expose. Click Add server to connect one, or leave it empty.

4. Brand the button and assistant
Set the Button text visitors click to open the assistant, then pick a Button icon and an Assistant icon. The assistant icon appears in the panel header and beside each answer.

5. Set the panel title and subtitle
Give the chat panel a clear Panel title and Panel subtitle so visitors know exactly what they are asking and where the answers come from.

6. Write the greeting and message-box copy
Set the New chat heading and New chat description shown in the assistant's empty state, plus the Message input placeholder and the Disclaimer shown beneath the message box.

7. Curate suggested prompts
Under Show suggested articles on new chat, leave Use popular articles as suggestions on to generate prompts automatically from your most-viewed articles, or turn it off to curate your own. When curating, click Add suggested article, pick an article, and give the prompt a short title.

Where the docs assistant runs
The Talk to the Documentation assistant runs on your published Knowledge Base site. Once you finish configuring it here and publish your Knowledge Base, the button appears in the top bar of your docs site, and visitors can chat with an assistant that answers from your articles and cites its sources. Everything you configure on this card, the prompt, branding, panel copy, greeting, and suggestions, is baked into the published site the next time you publish.
