Connecting Stripe is what lets your customers pay invoices and subscriptions online. If you no longer want to accept online payments — for example, you’re switching processors or pausing billing — you can disconnect Stripe at any time. This guide shows you how, and explains exactly what changes when you do.
How to disconnect Stripe from Cornerspot
Disconnecting Stripe lives on the Payments settings page. You’ll open the page, confirm the disconnect, and your portal stops offering online payment right away.
1. Open the Payments settings page
From the dashboard, select Accept Payments in the left-hand menu (under Members & Billing). When your account is connected, the page reads Connected to Stripe and shows your Charges and Payouts status and the date you connected.

2. Click “Disconnect”
In the actions row, click Disconnect.

3. Confirm in the dialog
Cornerspot asks you to confirm. The Disconnect Stripe? dialog warns that “Customers won’t be able to pay invoices or subscriptions until you reconnect. This does not refund any past payments.” Click Disconnect to continue.

4. You’re disconnected
The page returns to the Connect with Stripe state and a “Stripe disconnected” message confirms the change. Your customers will no longer see Pay buttons on invoices, and the member portal shows that payments aren’t configured.

What happens when you disconnect
- Online payment turns off: The Pay buttons disappear for customers on invoices and in the member portal, which shows that payments aren’t configured.
- Past payments are untouched: Disconnecting does not refund anything — all existing payments stay in your Stripe account.
- You can still accept manual payments: You can keep recording payments you receive offline — such as checks, cash, or bank transfers — directly on an invoice.
- Reconnect any time: Come back to this page and choose Connect with Stripe to turn online payment back on whenever you’re ready.
Tips
- Tell your customers first if you have open invoices awaiting online payment, so they know to expect a different way to pay.
- Disconnecting is reversible — reconnecting Stripe restores the Pay buttons and the portal’s online checkout right away.
- Charges and payouts run through your own Stripe account, so any refunds or disputes for past payments are still handled there even after you disconnect.
