How to permanently delete records from the Trash in CornerSpot

When you delete a record in Cornerspot it isn't gone right away — it moves to the Trash, where it stays recoverable for 30 days before clearing on its own. Sometimes, though, you want something removed for good before that window ends. This admin-only guide shows you how to permanently delete a record from the Trash.

Before you start

Admin only: The Trash and the Delete permanently action are available to admins. The Trash lives in your Account Settings at /dashboard/settings/trash.
This can't be undone: Permanent deletion bypasses the 30-day recovery window. Once a record is purged it cannot be restored — so only use it for records you're certain you no longer need.
Let the rest expire: You don't have to purge anything. Items leave the Trash automatically after 30 days, so reserve permanent deletion for cases where you truly need it gone sooner.

How to permanently delete a record from the Trash

1. Open the Trash

From your Account Settings, open the Trash tile (at /dashboard/settings/trash). It lists every deletion event from the last 30 days, with the record's type, who deleted it, and how long until it expires.

2. Find what you want to purge

Use the Search by name, type, or user box, or the Type, User, and date-range filters, to narrow the list to exactly the record you want to remove. Filtering first helps you avoid purging the wrong thing.

3. Open the deletion event

Click the deletion event to open its detail panel. It shows when the record was deleted and by whom, the date it would be permanently removed on its own, and every record that was deleted alongside it in the same cascade.

4. Click “Delete permanently” and confirm

Select Delete permanently at the bottom of the panel, then confirm when prompted. Cornerspot purges the record and everything in its cascade immediately — there is no undo.

5. The record is gone for good

Once purged, the deletion event leaves your Trash and the record can no longer be recovered. Everything you didn't touch stays right where it was, ready to expire on its own.

Permanently deleting several records at once

To purge more than one record, tick the checkbox on each deletion event (or use Select all on page), then click Delete permanently in the bulk action bar. Because a bulk purge can't be undone, Cornerspot adds a typed-confirmation safeguard: you'll be asked to type a short phrase (for example, “delete 3”) before the action will run. This extra step helps prevent an accidental mass deletion.

Good to know

The cascade goes too: Purging a deletion event removes the record and everything that was deleted with it. There's no way to bring any of it back.
Prefer restore when unsure: If you might still need a record, restore it instead of purging it — you can always delete it later.
30 days either way: Anything you leave in the Trash is removed automatically once it reaches the 30-day mark, so you only need to purge when you want it gone sooner.
