How to configure deal stages and win probability in CornerSpot

Stages are the steps a deal moves through inside a pipeline — and each one carries a win probability that powers your forecasting. From the Pipelines settings you can add new stages, set how likely a deal at each step is to close, and mark the final stages that count as won or lost. This guide shows you how.

How to configure deal stages in Cornerspot

Stages live inside a pipeline, so you manage them right on the pipeline's card in Pipelines settings. Here's the quickest path, start to finish.

1. Open the Pipelines settings

From your Account Settings, open the Pipelines tile (at /dashboard/settings/pipelines). Each pipeline appears as a card showing its stages, with an Add Stage button at the bottom.

2. Click “Add Stage”

On the pipeline you want to change, select Add Stage to open the stage panel. (To change an existing stage instead, click Edit on that stage.)

3. Name the stage

Give the stage a clear, recognizable Name — for example Negotiation — so your team knows exactly where a deal sits.

4. Set the win probability

Enter a Win Probability (%) between 0 and 100. This reflects how likely a deal sitting in this stage is to close, and Cornerspot uses it to forecast the value of your pipeline.

5. Mark terminal stages (optional)

Use the Closed Won and Closed Lost toggles to mark a stage as the end of the road. A stage can be one or the other, but not both — and these terminal stages drive your win/loss reporting.

6. Save the stage

When everything looks right, click Add Stage to save it (existing stages save with Save Changes).

7. The new stage appears

The stage joins the pipeline immediately, showing its name and win probability right on the card. You can reorder it by dragging its grip handle.

How stages and win probability work

  • Win probability drives forecasting: The percentage you set is used to weight a deal's value when Cornerspot projects how much your pipeline is likely to bring in.
  • Closed Won and Closed Lost are terminal: They mark the deal's outcome and feed your win/loss reporting. A stage can be one or the other, never both.
  • Order matters: Drag the grip handle to reorder stages so they match how your deals actually progress.
  • Stages belong to a pipeline: Each pipeline keeps its own set of stages, so you can model different sales processes side by side.

Tips for setting up stages

  • Keep stages few and meaningful — each should represent a real, observable step in your sales process.
  • Let win probability climb as deals advance, so early stages sit low and late stages sit high.
  • Make sure every pipeline has a Closed Won and a Closed Lost stage so outcomes are always captured.
