Your contacts change over time — a new phone number, a promotion, a lead that becomes a customer. In Cornerspot you can update a contact's details in seconds, right from the Contacts table. This guide shows you how.
How to update a contact in Cornerspot
Editing a contact takes just a few clicks from the Contacts page — no need to open a separate screen.
1. Find the contact and click the edit icon
From the dashboard, open Contacts. Locate the person you want to update and click the pencil (Edit contact) icon in the Actions column of their row.

2. The Edit Contact panel opens
A Edit Contact panel slides in from the right, pre-filled with everything you already have on this contact. Change any field you need.

3. Update the details
Change whatever you need to. In this example we give the contact a new Title and add a Phone number — you can edit the name, email, account, owner, tags, and custom fields the same way.

4. Update the status
Use the Status dropdown to move the contact through your lifecycle — for example, from Lead to Customer. Statuses power filtering, segmentation, and reporting across the CRM.

5. Save your changes
Click Save Changes. Your edits are saved instantly and the contact’s row updates to reflect the new details.

How contact updates flow through Cornerspot
Because every part of Cornerspot reads from the same contact record, an update made here is reflected everywhere instantly:
- Deals & activities: Any deal or logged activity tied to the contact shows the latest details automatically.
- Accounts: The contact’s account view always reflects the current title, status, and contact info.
- Email & member portal: Update an email address once and every outbound message and portal invitation uses it.
- Segmentation & reporting: Status and tag changes immediately reshape your filters, saved views, and reports.
There’s no syncing or re-entering data — edit a contact once and Cornerspot keeps everything consistent.
Tips for keeping contacts up to date
- Let automations update the status for you: With Cornerspot Automations you can change a contact’s status automatically when certain events happen — for example, moving a contact to Customer the moment a deal is won — so the field stays current without anyone editing it by hand.
- Update a contact’s status as they move through your pipeline so reporting stays accurate.
- Keep the email and phone current — they power one-click messaging and portal access.
- Use tags to capture changes that don’t fit a field, then filter on them later.
