Tags let you categorize and organize your live chat conversations — like billing, bug, or VIP — so your team can search, filter, and stay on top of the inbox. You add them from the Tags section of the visitor sidebar, using the same search-and-create control you already know from the CRM Edit Contact and Edit Account drawers.
How to tag a live chat conversation in CornerSpot
Open a conversation from the Live Chat Inbox at /dashboard/chat/inbox by clicking its row — you land on the conversation view at /dashboard/chat/inbox/{conversationId}, with the Customer sidebar on the right.
1. Find the Tags section
In the Customer sidebar on the right of the conversation, look for the Tags section, just under the visitor's name.

2. Open the tag picker
Click the tag picker to open it. It's the same search-and-create control used in the CRM Edit Contact and Edit Account drawers, so it works exactly the way you'd expect.

3. Select an existing tag
Start typing to search your team's tags, then click one to apply it — for example billing. Existing tags are shared across your team, so everyone uses the same labels.

4. Create a new tag on the fly
Need a label that doesn't exist yet? Type its name — for example VIP — and choose the Create option that appears. The new tag is created and applied in one step, and becomes available to the rest of your team.

5. Manage your tags as chips
Each tag you apply shows up as a chip in the Tags section. To remove one, click the small x on its chip — the tag stays in your team's tag list, it's just detached from this conversation.

Why tag conversations?
Tagging is a fast way to categorize conversations so your team can find and organize them later. Use tags like billing, bug, or VIP to group related chats, surface recurring themes, and triage your inbox at a glance. Because tags are team-wide, the labels you create are immediately available to your teammates too.
