Connecting Stripe is what turns on online card and bank payments in Cornerspot — the Pay this invoice button on your invoices and the Make a payment experience in your member portal. Cornerspot uses Stripe, so customers pay into your Stripe account directly and Cornerspot never holds your money. This guide shows you how to connect it.
How to connect Stripe in Cornerspot
You'll open the Payments settings, start the Stripe connection, complete a short onboarding on Stripe's side, and return to a connected account that's ready to accept payments.
1. Open the Payments page
From the dashboard, select Accept Payments in the left-hand menu (under Members & Billing). On the Payments page you'll see the prompt to “Connect your Stripe account so customers can pay invoices and subscriptions through your portal.” When you haven't connected yet, the page shows the Connect with Stripe card.

2. Click “Connect with Stripe”
Select Connect with Stripe. Cornerspot hands you off to Stripe to complete a short, secure onboarding — you'll confirm your business details and the bank account where you want to receive payouts. If you already have a Stripe account, you can sign in and connect it; if not, you can create one as part of the flow.

3. Finish onboarding on Stripe
Complete Stripe's onboarding steps. When you're done, Stripe returns you to Cornerspot and you'll see a “Stripe account connected” confirmation. The reassurance below the button still applies after you connect: “You can disconnect at any time. Existing payments stay in your Stripe account.”

4. Confirm you're connected
Back on the Payments page, the card now reads Connected to Stripe with “Your account is active and accepting payments.” You'll see Charges and Payouts marked Enabled, along with the date you connected. From here you can Manage on Stripe or Disconnect if you ever need to.

What connecting Stripe turns on
With Stripe connected, your customers can pay you online:
- Pay this invoice appears on open and overdue invoices, so customers can pay by card or bank transfer.
- The member portal's Make a payment page and Pay buttons become active.
- Customers can save payment methods for faster checkout and auto-pay on subscriptions.
- Charges and payouts run through your own Stripe account — Cornerspot never holds your money.
Good to know
- You can still record manual payments (cash, check, bank transfer) on invoices even without Stripe connected — connecting Stripe is specifically what enables online payments.
- If Stripe flags your account for review, the page shows “Stripe needs more information” and pauses charges until you resolve the listed requirements on Stripe — see the related Payments guide.
- You can disconnect at any time; existing payments stay in your Stripe account, and you can reconnect whenever you like.
