How two-factor authentication protects your CornerSpot account

Two-factor authentication — often shortened to 2FA — adds a second step at sign-in, so your password alone is never enough to reach your account. Every Cornerspot account has it switched on by default, with no setup needed on your part. This guide explains how it protects you and where to see it.

What two-factor authentication does

When you sign in, Cornerspot asks for your password and then a one-time code. Even if someone learns your password, they still can't get in without that code — which is sent only to your email inbox. This second factor is what keeps your account safe.

Where to find it on your profile

Your two-factor settings live on your profile at /dashboard/profile (titled Your profile), which you reach from the user menu in the bottom-left of the sidebar.

Scroll to the Two-factor authentication section — described as “An extra step at sign-in to protect your account.”

Email-code 2FA is on

The section confirms that email-code 2FA is on: a 6-digit code is sent to your email address on every sign-in. There's nothing to turn on — it's already protecting your account.

How the code is used at sign-in

After you enter your email and password, Cornerspot emails you a fresh 6-digit code and prompts you to type it in. The code is single-use and is generated anew each time you sign in, so an old code can't be reused.

If you don't receive the code

  • Check your spam or junk folder — the email can occasionally be filtered there.
  • Make sure you're checking the inbox for the exact email address on your account.
  • Wait a moment and request a new code from the sign-in screen if the first doesn't arrive.

Confirming a teammate is protected

Because 2FA is account-wide, admins can confirm at a glance that a teammate's account is protected. Open any teammate from the Team Members page and look for the “2FA on” badge in their detail panel.

What's coming next

Email-code 2FA is required for all Cornerspot accounts for now. Additional methods — such as authenticator apps and security keys — are planned, giving you more ways to verify sign-ins in the future.

Tips for staying secure

  • Keep access to your email account itself well protected — it's where your sign-in codes arrive.
  • Choose a strong, unique password; 2FA is a second layer, not a replacement for a good password.
  • Never share a sign-in code — Cornerspot will never ask you for it outside of the sign-in screen.
