Sometimes you need to pause a teammate's access without removing them — for example while they're on leave, or during a security review. In Cornerspot you can suspend a teammate to pause their access immediately, then reactivate them whenever you're ready. Suspension is fully reversible: they keep their account the whole time. This guide shows you how, both managed from the Team Members page.
How to suspend a teammate in Cornerspot
Suspending and reactivating are admin actions, managed from each teammate's detail panel under Manage access.
1. Open the Team Members page
From your Account Settings, open the Team Members tile (at /dashboard/settings/team-members). This lists everyone on your team along with their status.
2. Open the teammate
Click the teammate you want to manage. Their detail panel slides in from the right, showing their name, role, status, and the actions you can take.
3. Find “Manage access”
Scroll down to the Manage access section. This is where every lifecycle action for the teammate lives — including Suspend, Reactivate, and Revoke access.
4. Click “Suspend”
For an active teammate, click Suspend — described as “Pause access immediately. They keep their account.” This temporarily blocks their access to the team without deleting anything.
5. Confirm in the dialog
Cornerspot asks you to confirm in the “Suspend teammate?” dialog. Click Suspend to apply it. Their access is paused right away, and their status changes to Suspended in the list.
6. Reactivate them later
When you're ready to restore access, open the same teammate and click Reactivate — “Restore access on this team.” Reactivating goes straight through, with no confirmation dialog, and the teammate returns to Active with their previous role intact.
Suspend vs. revoke
- Suspend is a reversible pause — the teammate keeps their account and can be reactivated at any time with the same role.
- Revoke access is a permanent removal from this team. The person keeps their Cornerspot account but loses access here, and would need to be re-invited to return.
- Use suspend for a temporary break (leave, a review); use revoke when someone has left for good.
Safeguards to know
- You can't suspend the team owner, yourself, or the last active admin — a team must always keep at least one active admin.
- While suspended, a teammate's role can't be changed; reactivate them first.
- Suspension is reversible at any time — nothing is deleted, so their data and history stay exactly where they were.
